Type Inspiration 01 — Gilroy

A type & design series, featuring a different font monthly.

I decided to start a new typographic experiment series. First up for july is Gilroy, the perfect choice for any product, website or app.

Gilroy is a great example of an extremely modern and versatile font. I decided to pair this experiment with a limited colour palette and use the medium and light versions of the font.

I feel like gilroy is futura’s younger, sister — all of the benefits with none of the hangups (and hasn’t been overused by wes anderson).

pair gilroy with simple shapes and colours for maximum impact.

I feel like this font brings a lot of clarity and usability, so a perfect choice for digital products and infographics.

This font is simple and open and has just enough character on the ligatures to keep it interesting.

go get that bread.

The ascenders and descenders, are simple and elegant lending the font and understated sophistication.
